CFM Ratings:  Many compressor suppliers advertise "Displacement CFM" for the capacity of a compressor.  This figure gives an inflated notion of its capacity, and is meaningless in practical terms as it does not give the user any idea of what tools may be used with the compressor.  The "Free air delivery" is a measure of the actual output of the unit, which can then be matched to any air tool. Campbell Hausfeld units are among the most efficient compressors available (free air delivery per horsepower).
